Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
The Times Table Road Trip iPhone and iPad app works without an account and does not collect, store or share any personal information unless you choose to save scores online. Version 1.0 has no online saving at all; version 1.1 adds it as an option (see Saving scores online in the app). The website works the same way unless a player chooses to sign in with Google (see The website and Google sign-in).
No ads, tracking or analytics
Playing never needs an account, and the app sends nothing to us unless you choose to save scores online. There are no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking tools in it.
Names and progress stay on your device
Player names, scores and learning progress are saved on your iPhone or iPad. They're included in your own device backups and erased if you delete the app. In version 1.1, your devices signed in to the same Apple ID can also share them through your own iCloud account, which Apple keeps under Apple's privacy policy; we can't see it.
Microphone and speech recognition
The app listens only while a question is being answered, so it can turn your spoken answer into a number. On most devices this happens entirely on the device. On some older devices, Apple's speech recognition may process the audio on Apple's servers under Apple's privacy policy. We never receive it.
The game voice
The voice is computer-generated on your device by a built-in voice model. Nothing you say or type is sent anywhere to create it.
Saving scores online in the app (optional, version 1.1 and later)
A parent can save the family's scores online with Sign in with Apple or Google, and a player can link their own account the same way, so scores follow them to another device or the website. If you do, we store, using Google Firebase:
- the account's email address (with Sign in with Apple this can be Apple's hidden relay address) and its user ID;
- each player's name and the animal they picked, and a short name like "Lane S.";
- their scores and learning progress.
We use this only to run the game: to show your family's players and scores on each of your devices and, for a player with a school Google account, on that school's leaderboard (short name, animal and points, visible only to accounts from the same school). Personal and Apple accounts never appear on a shared leaderboard. Nothing is sold, shared or used for advertising. It's kept until you delete it.
Deleting an account. In the app, open Settings, then Family account (or a player's account), and tap Delete account. You sign in once more to confirm. This permanently deletes the account, every score and bit of progress saved to it, and any school leaderboard row; for Sign in with Apple it also revokes the app's access to your Apple ID. Scores on your iPhone or iPad stay there. "Delete an account you used before" in the same place deletes an account a device is no longer using. You can also email privacy@agrowthfactory.com and we'll delete it for you.
The website and Google sign-in
You can also play in a web browser at travisstoliker.com/timestables/play. Without signing in, it works like the app: names and scores are saved only in that browser. Listening uses the browser's own speech recognition; in Google Chrome, Google turns the spoken answer into text under Google's privacy policy. We never receive the audio.
Signing in with Google is optional. It saves that player's progress to their account so it follows them to other computers and Chromebooks. When someone signs in, we store, using Google Firebase:
- their game progress: the facts they've practiced, how they did, and their round scores;
- the short name shown in the game (first name and last initial, like "Lane S."), the animal they picked and, if they choose one, their grade.
Google tells the game the account's name and email address so it can sign them in; we use the email address only to know which school the account belongs to, and don't show it to anyone. Players with a school Google account appear on that school's leaderboard with their short name, animal, grade and points. Only people signed in with the same school's accounts can see it. Personal Gmail accounts never appear on a shared leaderboard.
There are no ads, analytics or tracking on the website either, and nothing is sold or shared. To delete a signed-in player's saved progress, email privacy@agrowthfactory.com and we'll erase it.
Children
The app is designed for families. Nothing is collected from anyone, including children, unless a parent chooses to save the family's scores online, or a player links their own (usually school) account. On the website, a child's progress is saved only if they sign in with Google, usually a school account; schools are responsible for approving apps for their students' accounts. Parents can ask us to delete their child's saved progress at any time.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
