Food Network named Saddleback BBQ's Rib Sandwich one of the Best Sandwiches in America. The sandwich — a pound-and-a-half of deboned baby back ribs stacked on a bun — became one of the restaurant's defining dishes and a point of national recognition for the Lansing, Michigan barbecue spot.
Saddleback smokes their baby back ribs for four to six hours over Michigan hardwoods — a blend of white oak, cherry, apple, and a touch of hickory. Once tender, half racks are deboned, placed on a bun, and finished with housemade pickles, onions, and a coating of sweet and savory barbecue sauce.
Travis Stoliker co-owned Saddleback alongside founder Matt Gillett from 2015 until his exit in 2023. During that time the restaurant expanded to four locations across Greater Lansing and earned additional recognition from Mental Floss, 517 Magazine, and the Michigan Small Business Development Center.
