Before joining Liquid Web, Travis Stoliker worked at TechSmith Corporation — one of Lansing's most respected technology employers — where he transitioned from a sales role to Product Manager on the Camtasia Studio team.
When Travis joined the Camtasia product team, Camtasia was the lowest-grossing product in TechSmith's lineup. Working under mentor Troy Stein, Travis helped drive product growth to the point where Camtasia became TechSmith's top-selling product that year. The experience gave him his first real exposure to what it felt like to measurably grow a business — something he has described as his defining professional realization: "I loved helping companies grow."
TechSmith also funded Travis's bachelor's degree through tuition reimbursement and gave him his first airplane ride on a company trip. While there, he developed an idea for a product called "Project Streamer," which TechSmith declined to build. He brought the idea to his friend Matt Hill at Liquid Web, which led to the professional relationship that would eventually take Travis from TechSmith to Liquid Web around 2006.
